Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort Undergoes $26M Renovation

Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort has unveiled the completion of its highly anticipated $26 million property-wide renovation. Nestled along the serene South Carolina shoreline, the resort’s expansive renovation began in August 2022 and encompasses a refreshed front entrance, elevated lobby, 323 upgraded guestrooms and refreshed balconies and an expanded courtyard.

Boasting a prime oceanfront location, three championship golf courses, access to 11 lagoon trails, eastern seaboard sun-facing pools and unmatched wellness amenities, Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort has long been revered as an idyllic escape in the coastal destination. The property’s latest transformation is its first since March 2015, when the new pool complex that includes two family pools, an adult pool and kids’ splash pad was reimagined.

Inspired by the signature surroundings that embody the Lowcountry region, the design team wanted to stay true to the area’s flora and fauna for the interiors, pulling elements found in the local architecture, specifically the trademark haint blue porch ceilings. To evoke a more residential feel, traditional and transitional furnishings were merged to complement the updated guestrooms which are embellished with ocean blue and green hues throughout. The focus was to blend the timeless southern style it’s known for with a contemporary display of coastal elegance.

Making A Grand Entrance

Setting the tone for a comfortable and elegant experience before stepping foot inside, guests are welcomed by a transformed front entrance that’s comprised of lush landscaping and subtle lighting that creates a warm yet awe-inspiring ambiance.

It’s upon entering the front door where guests are then invited to indulge in refined elegance with a refreshed, open air lobby. Marrying the allure of coastal charm with a simplistic yet luxurious setting, the lobby’s décor is inspired by the sea and features a blend of natural textures, muted tones and tasteful nautical accents. A prelude to an unparalleled retreat, the expansive, oversized windows spaced throughout showcase panoramic views of the tropical palm trees and beautiful property.

New Rooms With A View

Exuding an atmosphere of tranquility, the new guestrooms are adorned with elegant furnishings that nod to the natural beauty of the Carolina coastline. Each room harmoniously blends modern aesthetics and classic beach elements. A haven to unwind and immerse in as it pulls in the blues of the ocean into the headboard, sofas, and green accent pillows pulling from the low-country vegetation. From the silhouette of the headboard, to the turned spindle legs of the bench, the furniture pulls from traditional residential pieces, while the caning accents of the dresser and wicker desk and guestroom chair help to bring the tropical local into the guestroom. The custom dresser and desk combination piece marry white oak wood with the stone top painted blue dresser, tying the furniture with the architectural accent pieces. The textural, patterned carpet is reminiscent of the sandy beach, both inviting and relaxing.

Meticulously designed to create an outdoor sanctuary, the redeveloped suite balconies provide the perfect haven to take in spectacular sunsets while enjoying the gentle sea breeze. Combining modern comfort with coastal aesthetics, the new balconies are outfitted with new sliding glass doors and railings, making it the ideal setting for a morning coffee or evening cocktails.

A Beautiful Courtship

A coastal oasis located at the heart of the resort, the courtyard is a testament to the thoughtful design and craftsmanship involved in this renovation. Encapsulating both soothing beach vibes with swaying palm trees and a garden atmosphere with vibrant blooms and oak trees, the courtyard now boasts a low-country charm found in furnishings, lighting, and landscaping throughout the courtyard.

Enveloped in a tapestry of Southern coastal colors, guests are beckoned to congregate and explore the meandering pathways, yard games such as chess, checkers, ping pong, cornhole, fire pits, and more. Seating areas, adorned with comfortable furnishings such as rocking chairs nestled around the firepits, combination of lounge sofa groupings, oversized club chairs and wingback chairs, wicker rockers perfect for an afternoon siesta under the palm tree or a place to read a book. A subdued color palette of greens, taupes and creams was chosen to blend beautifully with the natural colors of the surrounding landscaping and trees. Twinkle lights strung across the courtyard, create a beautiful atmosphere at sunset and into the evening further enhancing the courtyard charm can be found throughout area, which is also a premier wedding and event venue accommodating up to 150 guests.
