Commenting on her new role as President of SITE Foundation, Carina said: “Taking over from John Iannini, I’m stepping into very large shoes and assuming the role of president of the Foundation at a time when SITE, and, indeed, the incentive travel industry as a whole, is in a very good place. Sincerest thanks to John for his inspirational leadership over two terms during which so much was achieved. My own term as president will focus on advocacy, partnerships with purpose and investment growth”.

SITE Foundation has invested over $1.2m in the incentive travel industry over the past four years through such actions as the commissioning of valuable research, including the Incentive Travel Industry Index in collaboration with IRF and FICP, through scholarships and grants to SITE members and chapters, through the creation of Motivate, a repository of crucial content for incentive travel professionals and finally through the development of accreditation like Certified Incentive Travel Professional (CITP).

SITE Foundation is also currently supporting SITE’s digital transformation, an initiative that’ll revolutionise the association’s on-line and digital presence, providing SITE members and professionals at large with access to content and channels to start, build and advance their careers and businesses in the incentive travel sphere.

“A key goal”, says Carina, “will be to highlight the myriad ways SITE Foundation builds value for SITE members, for the Business Events industry and for the corporate world. We will achieve that through more effective messaging and better activation of our advocacy channels”.

The Incentive Travel Industry Index received over 2500 submissions from incentive travel professionals in over 100 countries. This is a collaborative project, jointly organised by FICP, IRF and SITE working with Oxford Economics as the research partner.

“ITII highlights how ‘together we’re strong’. During 2020 we’ll seek out and develop more of these ‘partnerships with purpose’ to further our goals in the areas of research, education, advocacy and fundraising. Key over-arching filters and themes in this regard will be sustainability, diversity & inclusion and underlining the business case for incentive travel”.
