Baton Rouge Marriott Hotel Unveils Renovation

April 18, 2018

Finals-0020-400The Baton Rouge Marriott Hotel officially unveiled its more than $25 million renovation on Thursday, capping off a year of construction that improved every inch of the facility with a hotel-wide celebration.

The more than $25 million renovation of the Baton Rouge Marriott Hotel, which is located off of Corporate Boulevard, took around a year and featured improvements to every surface of the hotel, including expanding and renovating its 299 guest rooms, completely remaking the lobby and ballrooms and creating a modern restaurant space for Stinky’s Fishcamp.

Renovations included removing balconies from the guest rooms, expanding most rooms by 3.5 feet. The new rooms feature modern furniture, amenities and décor. All guest bathrooms were renovated and improved. Guest rooms feature technology upgrades, including large smart TVs where they can use their streaming services.

The 21-story Baton Rouge Marriott Hotel, located near I-10 and College Drive, features a 6,500-sf ballroom, a floor of meeting rooms for corporate events or family celebrations and an improved pool area. The hotel has 20,000 sf of meeting space.

Stinky’s Fishcamp, a popular oyster and wine restaurant on County Road 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, opened earlier this year, bringing its fresh Gulf-to-table cuisine to the newly renovated hotel. The open concept space features a large bar with a wine wall to house its extensive wine selection and several televisions.

Stinky’s Fishcamp locations have regional menus, but the restaurants have a South Louisiana flair. Owned and operated by Lafayette-born chef Jim Richard and chefs Todd Misner and Brannon Janca, the restaurant’s menu features oysters prepared nearly a dozen ways and also served on an overflowing oyster log, crispy catfish meunière, a Lafayette-style gumbo, crawfish pie and signature fish tacos.
