Anna Marie Presutti
Interim President & CEO
San Francisco Travel
The San Francisco Travel Association announced the appointment of long-time San Francisco hospitality leader Anna Marie Presutti as Interim President and CEO to replace Scott Beck, who resigned for personal reasons.
Presutti, vice president and general manager of the Hotel Nikko, has served as San Francisco Travel’s board chair and will assume her interim CEO role immediately succeeding Beck, who joined San Franciso Travel in October 2023. John Anderson, General Manager of the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel, who is San Francisco Travel chair-elect, becomes San Francisco Travel chair.
“San Francisco Travel will continue to be the champion of hospitality for all those who want to visit, enjoy, dine and work in one of the world’s best cities,” Presutti said. “Our board will conduct a search for a new CEO who embodies the spirt of San Francisco, is a skillful manager of a great team, and is experienced in attracting conventions, business travelers and tourists to great cities.”
San Francisco’s robust tourism economy is recovering from the financial impacts of the pandemic and concerns about the city’s safety and homelessness, Presutti said. It hosted more than 23 million visitors last year, a 5.2 percent increase over 2022. Those visitors spent $9.3 billion, an 18 percent year-over-year increase, and generated nearly $610 million in City tax revenues.
“I cannot think of a leader more qualified, respected and more dedicated to the San Francisco travel, convention and hospitality profession than Anna Marie Presutti,” Anderson said. “We are in great hands with Anna Marie until we find a new CEO.”
