Newsweek_Logo-700pxNewsweek announced 2022’s Best Customer Service Rankings for retailers and service providers. In collaboration with Statista Inc., the global market research and consumer data firm, the news organization surveyed more than 25,000 customers who have either made purchases, used services, or gathered information about products or services in the past three years. Overall, luxury hotels, amusement park experiences and cruise operators are the three categories with the highest scores of customer service.

The 2022 list recognizes 581 total brands across 161 categories. The 10 companies with the highest scores are:

1.       USAA (General Liability Insurance)

2.       Viking Cruises (Cruise Operators)

3.       USAA (Auto Insurance)

4.       Park Hyatt (Luxury Hotel, 5 Stars)

5.       Vanguard (Trading & Brokerage Services)

6.       Waldorf Astoria (Luxury Hotel, 5 Stars)

7.       Apple (Consumer Electronics, Online)

8.       Gucci (Luxury Fashion & Accessories)

9.       Disney Parks & Resorts (Amusement Park Experience)

10.      Universal Parks & Resorts (Amusement Park Experience)

Five of these companies – Viking Cruises, Waldorf Astoria, Park Hyatt, Vanguard and USAA – also made it into the top 10 list last year.

“The pandemic put businesses in every sector to the test, and those who prioritized and excelled at customer service have clearly made their mark in the minds of customers,” said Nancy Cooper, global editor in chief, Newsweek.

“There is no better time than now to celebrate the best customer service leaders in so many competitive categories,” said Manuel Moerbach, Statista’s CEO. “This ranking was developed as an opportunity to showcase companies in the U.S. that stand out not only in their service but in their commitment to quality customer care.”

The final assessment and rankings were based on the likelihood of recommendation (50% of the final score) and five evaluation criteria (also 50% of the final score). The criteria are quality of communication, professional competence, range of services, customer focus and accessibility.
