McCormick Place Gets New SVP & GM

Samuel Thomas Jr. has been hired as the new senior vice president and general manager for McCormick Place in Chicago, which is currently being managed by the Oak View Group. Thomas Jr.  last worked for Events DC for 13 years as their chief operating officer. That position included being a senior vice president and general manager for the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. He also worked for the Washington Convention & Sports Authority as deputy general manager, in addition to working there for Centerplate,  as well as for Aramark at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and for Marriott Hotels in the Philadelphia area.
