Discover Dunwoody, the destination marketing organization (DMO) responsible for promoting tourism within the thriving city located just north of Atlanta, announced the appointment of Treasure Wilson as sales manager. Bringing more than 15 years of industry experience to the Discover Dunwoody team, Wilson will support the destination’s nine world-class hotels and drive future growth for the destination, by creating customized programs that cater to guests’ varying needs.

A seasoned hospitality sales veteran, Wilson has a proven track record of developing creative plans to drive sales, surpass quotas and increase revenue. Prior to joining the Discover Dunwoody team, she was an instrumental part of the sales teams for several leading global hotel and resort brands such as Marriott International and IHG.  She also previously served as sales manager for the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she oversaw meetings, conferences, exhibit shows and other special events, including collaborating directly with third-party meeting planners, handling prospecting, negotiation of group contracts and supported the area’s destination marketing efforts.

Most recently, Wilson was director of sales for Sonesta International Hotels Corporation in Atlanta.  Within one month of beginning that role, Wilson successfully booked more than $200k in room revenue and achieved second place within the Sonesta Select brand cluster, comprised of nearly 70 properties around the world. She also ranked in the top 5% of Sonesta hotels in market share expansion through rate growth.

“We are thrilled to welcome Treasure to our team and look forward to seeing the ways she leverages her hospitality and tourism experience, as well as her exceptional interpersonal skills, to support our valued partners,” said Ray Ezelle, executive director of Discover Dunwoody. “One of the things that is really special about Treasure is her deep roots in the community, and the way she has forged meaningful relationships throughout her career. We are excited to have her onboard as we enter a new chapter of growth in Dunwoody!”

Dunwoody’s hotels offer a combined 2,100 guestrooms and 69,000+ square feet of meeting space. With a variety of dining options – from authentic Italian cuisine at Novo Cucina to one of Atlanta’s best burgers at NFA Burger – and an abundance of activities, including an obstacle course suspended in the trees at Treetop Quest and cooking classes at Vino Venue, the destination has an abundance of offerings for all types of travelers. As groups look for a place to host their meetings and events in the upcoming year, Discover Dunwoody is prepared to welcome them to the destination, offering an ideal mix of accommodations, amenities and attractions for both business and leisure.
