New York City’s Largest Hotel Wraps Up Phase One Reno

New York HIlton MidtownManhattan’s largest hotel, the 1,985-room New York Hilton Midtown, is wrapping up the first phase of a major revamp with Manhattan’s skyline as the centerpiece of the room. The property is introducing a design that is minimalistic and sparse so that each room’s Gotham view becomes the art. The first phase included refurbishments to the hotel’s executive level incorporating 187 guest rooms and 41 suites on floors 39–44.   A complete guest room renovation program is planned for the next few years.

Meeting space renovations to be completed by the end of the third quarter 2014 include the Grand Ballroom, the city’s largest hotel ballroom, which features more than 25,000 sf of flexible meeting space; and the 12,716-sf Sutton Hall and Nassau ballroom complex.

Phase one improvements include:

  • More than 1,200 Wireless Access Points now provide maximum capacity coverage in all guest rooms.
  • Accommodating today’s frequent flier, a cantilevered work surface with maximum floor space and power allows for effortless remote access.
  • The new amenities include multiple PowerPoint options, abundant workspaces, and 55-inch flat-screen TV, which boasts an upgraded media experience for guests who travel with multiple devices.
  • Renovated bathrooms have new architectural finishes, vanities and illuminated mirrors, and the lobby features a new reception area, luxurious Executive Lounge, improved lighting design and new stone flooring.

The full renovation is slated to be completed in 2016.
