Marriott Welcomes Las Vegas Convention Center Expansion

LAS VEGAS, November 29, 2018 — The Las Vegas Marriott provides guests easy access to the nearby Convention Center, as the iconic venue undergoes a brand new expansion. Located within walking distance of the Las Vegas Convention Center hotel, the convention center is set to finish its expansion in time for CES 2021. The LVCCD expansion is set to add 1.4 million square feet to the facility, including 600,000 square feet of new exhibit space.
“The expansion and renovation of the Las Vegas Convention Center will take our ability to bring business to the destination to a new level by allowing us to welcome more shows, more exhibitors and more delegates,” said Lawrence Weekly, chairman of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Clark County Commissioner.
Situated within walking distance of the convention center, the Las Vegas Hotel offers large, suite-style rooms with a host of amenities and modern comforts for guests, especially long-term stay travelers in town for expos and conventions. The hotel’s location also puts guests conveniently close to the strip and all that Las Vegas has to offer.
The third phase of the expansion project will see the completion of a renovation of the existing 3.2 million-square-foot facility, to be completed by 2023. The project is set to allow the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to pursue new business opportunities, bringing guests of the Las Vegas Marriott instant access to the growing venue in the city as it expands.
The expansion and renovation will help create nearly 14,000 construction jobs and more than 7,800 full-time jobs, as well as generate $2.1 billion for the local economy. The project is set to have a huge impact on the economic growth and expansion of meetings in Las Vegas.
