The Mirage Doubles Down with ‘Aces of Comedy’ Shows

The Mirage Hotel & Casino is doubling down in 2021 and adding even more comedians to its Aces of Comedy lineup. Taking The Mirage Theatre stage this summer and fall are Kathleen Madigan, Whitney Cummings, Ron White, Iliza Shlesinger, George Lopez and Heather McMahan. Additionally, Tom Segura has added two dates to his recently announced run. All shows are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Tickets for all Aces of Comedy shows go on sale Friday, May 7 at 10 a.m. PT. Tickets can be purchased online at mirage.com/aces or ticketmaster.com. KATHLEEN MADIGAN (Friday, August 6)
For 32 years, comedian Kathleen Madigan has been touring 250 nights on the road and has risen from performing in comedy clubs to performing sold-out shows in marquee theaters. She’s also squeezed in over 40 appearances on late night talk shows and multiple comedy specials airing on Netflix, Comedy Central and HBO. She recently joined Jerry Seinfeld on his Netflix show “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” and made the most of the pandemic by launching a podcast, “Madigan’s Pubcast,” on all streaming outlets. Her most recent special “Bothering Jesus” is her fifth hour-long stand-up special and is currently streaming on Netflix. Her album from the “Bothering Jesus” special was the highest-selling comedy album and most-played comedy album on streaming services since 2014. WHITNEY CUMMINGS (Saturday, August 7)
Hailed as “the reigning Queen of American stand-up,” Whitney Cummings is one of the preeminent comedic voices currently working as a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. Best known for creating and starring in the NBC series “Whitney,” she co-created and co-wrote (with Michael Patrick King) the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy series “2 Broke Girls.” Last year, Cummings launched her own podcast titled “Good For You” and also debuted her fourth stand-up special, “Can I Touch It?” on Netflix; previous specials have aired on both HBO and Comedy Central. In addition to co-writing and directing the feature film “The Female Brian,” she also stars alongside Sofia Vergara, James Marsden, Lucy Punch, Toby Kebbell, Cecily Strong, Beanie Feldstein and Blake Griffin. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was distributed by IFC. RON WHITE (August 13 – 14; October 29 – 30; December 3 – 4; December 10 – 11)
Ron White, best known as the cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, will perform his hilarious stand-up comedy at The Mirage Theater. White has established himself as a star in his own right with multiple comedy albums and videos, including “Drunk In Public,” “They Call Me Tater Salad” and “You Can’t Fix Stupid.” Ticket prices start at $65.99 plus tax and service fees.

ILIZA SHLESINGER (August 27 – 28)
Iliza is one of today’s leading comedians with a fan base that shows their loyalty by creating their own Iliza-inspired swag worn at her shows. Her fifth Netflix stand-up special “UnVeiled” premiered in November 2019 and delves into her journey of getting married. Her past specials include “War Paint,” “Freezing Hot” and “Confirmed Kills.” Iliza’s “The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show” premiered on Netflix in early 2020. She also recently co-starred opposite Mark Wahlberg in the Netflix movie “Spenser Confidential,” directed by Peter Berg. Her first book “Girl Logic: The Genius and the Absurdity” (Hachette Book Group) is a subversively funny collection of essays and observations on a confident woman’s approach to friendship, singlehood and relationships. GEORGE LOPEZ (September 3 – 4)
George Lopez’s multi-faceted career encompasses television, film, stand-up comedy and late-night television. Lopez can be seen in his Netflix original comedy special “We’ll Do It For Half,” which premiered June 2020. Last year, Lopez embarked on his The Wall World nationwide stand-up comedy tour. He also completed his tour for The Comedy Get Down with Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, and Cedric the Entertainer. Lopez co-created, wrote, produced and starred in Warner Bros. Television’s groundbreaking hit sitcom “George Lopez” which ran for six seasons on ABC. On film, he will next be seen opposite Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell in “Walking with Herb,” a faith-based film inspired by Joe S. Bullock’s novel of the same name. In 2006, Lopez received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. HEATHER MCMAHAN (Sunday, Sept. 5)
A beloved Instagram storyteller and the best friend everyone wants, Atlanta native Heather McMahan has seen her fandom skyrocket. Her stand-up show is 90 minutes of storytelling and improv comedy. McMahan’s comedic material is upfront and honest and includes a variety of impressions from familiar people in her life to the original characters she creates. She first gained visibility on broadcast TV when Maria Shriver mentioned McMahan was her “favorite comedian to follow on Instagram” while co-hosting NBC’s “TODAY” show. She has gone on to co-host the fourth hour of “TODAY” three times. In 2019, she embarked on her first live tour The Farewell Tour, selling out venues nationwide in under a minute. In July 2019, she debuted her “Absolutely Not with Heather McMahan” podcast, which landed in the Top 10 podcasts on iTunes on its release day. TOM SEGURA (October 8 – 9)
Actor/Comedian/Writer Tom Segura is one of the biggest names in comedy. He recently performed to sold-out audiences on his 100-city Take It Down Tour. He is best known for his Netflix specials “Ball Hog” (2020), “Disgraceful” (2018), “Mostly Stories” (2016) and “Completely Normal” (2014). Paste Magazine described him as “…having a natural and capable storytelling ability, one that lifts his narratives out of average anecdote fare and plants them firmly in hilarious ground.” Additionally, his hit podcasts “Your Mom’s House,” which he co-hosts with his wife, comedian Christina Pazsitzky, and “2 Bears 1 Cave,” which he co-hosts with Bert Kreischer, have rapidly grown to two of today’s biggest comedy podcasts.
