The City of Philadelphia announced that it is canceling all large public events on public property like parades and major outdoor concerts through February 2021. Public events DO NOT include private meetings, conventions or events held in controlled environments and venues like hotels or the Pennsylvania Convention Center. It also DOES NOT include sporting events held at sports stadiums. The PHLCVB is in close contact with the City of Philadelphia and its public health officials regarding all event regulations and will provide regular updates to its customers and members as the situation evolves. Please contact the PHLCVB sales team with any questions.

Philadelphia enters a modified version of Pennsylvania’s Green Phase for reopening on July 3 with restrictions to remain in place through at least August 1. The modified version of Philadelphia’s Reopening with Care guidelines allows for low-risk activities to reopen, including museums and libraries, indoor shopping malls, and small indoor and outdoor gatherings.

As the city eases into reopening, its important to remember that COVID-19 is still a risk, and guidelines should be adhered to reduce the spread.

For the City of Philadelphia’s complete guide to reopening and recovery, view the City’s Safer at Home reopening plan. This guide provides operations guidance for various sectors and activities, and the updated executive orders.

The name of the plan is purposeful: You are still safer at home when it comes to avoiding infection of COVID-19 and stopping the spread to others. As the city begins to reopen, we want to continue the progress in limiting COVID-19 cases. That means committing to these three things any time you are outside the home:

  • Wear a mask.
  • Keep at least six feet from others.
  • Wash your hands frequently.

The City of Philadelphia’s Department of Public Health has activated a Coronavirus Helpline, 1-800-722-7112. The Helpline, free and available 24/7, is a resource that anyone in the Greater Philadelphia area is encouraged to use to answer questions about COVID-19. Staffed by medical experts, the helpline will help answer questions, including:

  • Symptoms and risk factors for the coronavirus
  • What to do if you think you may have been exposed
  • Testing resources
  • Recommendations for social distancing
