GBTA Poll Indicates Strong Demand For Business Travel’s Return

According to a recent GBTA poll, those who responded seemed optimistic about the industry’s recovery. Fifty-four percent said they feel more optimistic now than they did a month ago; 40 percent say they feel the same and 6 percent say they feel more pessimistic than they did last month.

People seem to be more willing to travel for business. Seventy-seven percent of GBTA members and stakeholders indicate their employees are willing or very willing to travel for business at the current time. Four percent said they are not willing while 12 percent are neutral and 7 percent are unsure at this time.

Those who responded also indicated that many are already vaccinated. According to the poll, eighty-one percent of respondents are fully vaccinated. Eight percent are partially vaccinated. Five percent are not vaccinated and five percent opted not to share their status.

Forty-five percent of businesses indicated that their workers have the choice to work in-office or at home. Twenty-seven percent of businesses have not yet opened and their employees are working from home. Nineteen percent indicated that their office has re-opened and most employees are required to be in the office at least one day per week. Nince percent are classified as “other.”
