Events DC Awards $500,000 In Community Grants

Events DC awarded $500,000 in community grants to 39 local youth organizations across all eight wards. They celebrated the Fiscal Year 2022 Community Grants awardees at a festive luncheon.

Performances include youth from the Washington Performing Arts, a traditional dance of Colombia by Dance Loft on 14 and Chinese Lions and musicians from Hung Tao Choy Mei (Lucky Lions) Leadership Institute.

Events DC accepts applications twice each fiscal year for two grant cycles. Grant amounts range from single grants of $2,500 to $25,000. The awards were announced in October 2021 and April 2022 and represent all eight wards in the District of Columbia.

Events DC is committed to being a good neighbor and an active and engaged member of the community. This means finding ways to give back and lending support to those on the front lines who positively impact our city. These 39 non-profit organizations promote youth participation in arts and athletics in every ward of the district, allowing young people to grow their skills and dreams while making sure the future of Washington, DC stays the best place to live, work and play.
