Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey updated meeting space.

Located in the heart of the beautiful Los Angeles coastline and only four miles from LAX, Marina del Rey offers over 100,000 sf of waterfront meeting space and 1,100 hotel guest rooms. All five of the Marina’s main hotels have undergone renovations in the past few years, and group business can utilize recently updated meeting spaces in key properties.

Jamaica Bay Inn, a boutique beachfront hotel with 111 guest rooms, debuted a beautifully refreshed Beachside Restaurant & Bar and an all-new meeting space, the 1,008 sf waterfront Bermuda Room.

The iconic Marina del Rey Hotel –  the first hotel to open in the Marina (in 1964) – unveiled a top-to-bottom renovation in 2015. The waterfront property features 164 updated guest rooms and 9,700 sf of meeting space with panoramic water views, including a harbor-facing event lawn.

The 370 room Marina del Rey Marriott has recently renovated all meeting and public spaces, including the California Ballroom, the hotel’s largest space at 6,072 sf; as well as the penthouse-level Bayview Ballroom (4,264 sf), in which floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic coastline views; and the Promenade Ballroom (1,881 sf).

The 134 room Hilton Garden Inn Marina del Rey received a complete overhaul when the property took the HG flag in 2013. The modern property offers easy access to the Marina’s amenities as well as Venice Beach, plus 7,245 sf of flexible meeting space.

The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey, updated The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom (8,190 sf) and additional event spaces (over 6,500 sf) on the hotel’s marina level. New doors were installed to allow the ballroom to accommodate vehicles and larger equipment. The hotel focused on adding power, broader Wi-Fi bandwidth and Bluetooth technology.

Yacht rentals are also popular for Marina del Rey meetings and business programs, and the MDRCVB maintains a list of numerous skippered vessels available for charter. One of two vendors for large groups, Hornblower Cruises & Events, has begun renovating its five local ships. First up was overhauling the Entertainer, which has 6,600 sf of event space on three decks, accommodating up to 550 passengers; new appointments include elegant dining chairs, modern carpets, wood dance floors, cozy deck furniture, and oversized chairs on the bow for lounging and conversation.

Renovation of the Boathouse at Burton Chace Park has completed, and the unique meeting space is expected to open for rentals in late 2018.

Two new Marina del Rey hotels, Courtyard Marriott and Residence Inn, break ground in 2018.

Pier 44 redevelopment project with new restaurants is underway, with an estimated 2019 completion.
