Despite lower hotel occupancy and lackluster attendance figures from theme parks, Visit Orlando said May 11 the region had a record 68 million visitors last year, reports the Orlando Sentinel.
That surpasses 66 million people visiting Orlando in 2015.
“In aggregate, when you add it all up, we were still able to hold our own nicely,” Visit Orlando CEO George Aguel said in an interview before Visit Orlando’s annual luncheon announcing the record.
