United Announces New Long-haul Routes

United Airlines has unveiled plans for a variety of new routes and additional flights from its hubs in Chicago, Denver, New York Newark and San Francisco.

From May 2, 2020 the carrier wants to run daily flights between Newark and the French city of Nice (competing with all-business class carrier La Compagnie on the route).

United will operate the service with reconfigured Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, fitted with 46 of its Polaris business class seats.

From May 20, 2020 the carrier plans to launch flights from Newark to Palermo, Italy. Both routes are subject to government approval.

Flights to the Caribbean island of Curaçao are planned to operate on Saturdays from December 7, 2019 on a Boeing 737-700, a route also subject to approval.
