The Shelborne South Beach, the 1940s Art Deco gem hosting unparalleled views of the Atlantic Ocean in a tropical, relaxed setting, has unveiled a $500,000 renovation of the property’s 4,388 square-foot Grand El Dorado Ballroom.

V7p2XSInThe newly updated space revives the Shelborne’s vintage-chic legacy of luxury, elegance and impeccable service. The room incorporates masterfully infused Art Deco details with a playful modern touch throughout. The space’s refined design sensibility and savvy perspective are complemented by the stories, glamour and iconic culture of the 1950s. The palatial Grand El Dorado Ballroom now accommodates up to 360 guests, maximizing space for diverse group events, weddings and meetings.

“In an effort to grow and evolve with our loyal and discerning clientele, we embarked on a gorgeous interior renovation to match our top tier level of service,” said Steven Hibum, general manager of the Shelborne South Beach. “We look forward to celebrating weddings, corporate functions and special events in our pristinely designed ballroom.”

The palatial Grand El Dorado Ballroom holds a reconception of up to 360 guests. Popular for weddings and social functions, the room is divided into two areas, with stairs connecting a raised room to a lower area. From lean ceiling design with unexpected hints of stained wood to the one-of-a-kind custom wall sconces, the Grand El Dorado Ballroom appeals to those looking for a contemporary Miami experience. Perhaps most notable are the decadent chandeliers and marble wall cladding acting as focal points. The room’s architectural lighting, including cove lighting at the perimeter of the ballroom, illuminates the vibrant colors paired with neutral tones throughout.

Additionally, the hotel houses over 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The mezzanine level consists of multiple meeting rooms: a stately, 405-square-foot boardroom; a meeting room of 689 square feet named the Rambler; The Gallery, a pre-function space of 724 square feet.; and the 1,916-square-foot Continental room. Stunning, sleek chandeliers anchor the Continental room, with dark wood paneling adding a sophisticated yet moody touch. Three-dimensional light fixtures flank side walls while light wainscoting provides a stark contrast against black walls and molding. The room’s electric blue carpet featuring shades of gold and silver tie brings light to the moody space.

Designed to accommodate events ranging from weddings and birthday parties to corporate meetings, Shelborne South Beach has a dedicated culinary team that can cater to any type of event. Furthermore, a professional service staff oversees every affair, from WiFi access to A/V capabilities. To request a proposal, visit www.shelborne.com/request-for-proposal/
