Reno Resorts Value the Meeting Planner, Take a Stand On Commissions

According to PCMA, as major hotel groups across the United States have cut third-party planner commissions to seven percent, properties in Reno — including the Eldorado Resort Casino, with 12,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, offering 200,000 square feet of event space — will remain at 10 percent, according to the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA).

“Meeting planners play an integral role in the process of securing group business,” RSCVA’s Vice President of Sales Mike Larragueta tells PCMA. “Reno Tahoe hoteliers recognize the value and expertise planners bring to this industry and will continue offering adequate incentives for the foreseeable future.”
