July 17, 2014

The official North American marketing and sales office for the Tourism Authority of Panama, Marketing Challenges International (MCIntl), announced the launch of “Panama, The New Business Hub of the Americas,” a promotional campaign to bring awareness of the country’s strategic location and growing infrastructure to North American meeting planners.

“Panama has long been a best-kept secret among meeting planners,” said Michel Couturier, president of MCIntl. “This new campaign will expose more planners to Panama’s great benefits, including its brand new meetings facilities, easy air access, beautiful attractions, and friendly economic climate.”

“Panama, The New Business Hub of the Americas” includes a series of presentations and digital marketing efforts targeted to North American meeting planners of international events, as well as a study tour to Panama for qualified planners. The campaign will educate planners about the country’s safe and modern infrastructure, including its international airport and metropolitan capital Panama City, as well as the many economic advantages, including the use of the U.S. dollar as official currency and IRS tax exemptions for U.S. companies.

MCIntl also will highlight key meetings suppliers in Panama, which currently boasts more than 550,000 sf of meeting space and more than 24,000 hotel rooms from leading international brands including Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, Wyndham and more. In 2015, the new Panama Convention Center will add an additional 570,505 sf of meeting space in a state-of-the-art facility overlooking the iconic Panama Canal.

As Panama’s official North American marketing and sales office for conventions, meeting and incentives, MCIntl provides free services to North American meeting planners, including providing promotional material, presenting to planners interested in Panama, facilitating RFPs, planning and coordinating study tours, providing support for delegate boosting, etc. For more information, contact Jacqueline Hewitt, vice president sales at JH@mcintl.com.
