La Cantera Unveils New Look and New Amenities

La Cantera Hill Country ResortLa Cantera Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas, is readying for reopening after its multimillion-dollar transformation. Managed by Destination Hotels, the 550-acre resort, which suspended overnight guest accommodations in November of 2014, will welcome back guests in April.

“All elements of the resort’s transformation have been carefully designed to elevate guest experiences and position the property as the preeminent resort in Texas,” said John Spomer, vice president and managing director, La Cantera Hill Country Resort. “Throughout this process, we are holding true to our commitment to create truly unforgettable experiences and rediscover the Hill Country in a relaxed, yet sophisticated setting that is unrivaled in San Antonio.”

Plaza San Saba, the resort’s courtyard centerpiece, will feature landscaped terraces amidst natural settings. The new Esparza lawn will create a picturesque backdrop for events. Both the resort and adult pools have been completely redesigned and will feature expanded seating, private cabanas and dedicated food and beverage options.

The resort’s restaurants and bars will be completely revamped. Sire Bar will serve curated cocktails, while guests can enjoy charcuterie offerings and other small plates from Bocado. SweetFire Kitchen, the resort’s primary restaurant with an exhibition kitchen, will feature private dining rooms and al fresco dining overlooking Plaza San Saba. Primero Cantina, adjacent to the resort pool, will offer Tex-American creations anchored by an indoor/outdoor bar.

The new 10,000-sf La Cantera Ballroom and additional meeting space will bring the resort’s total event space to 115,000 sf.
