Irving’s New Westin Convention Hotel Opens for Business

April 16, 2019

Irving’s new convention hotel has opened its doors.

The $113 million Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas is next to the Irving Convention Center on State Highway 114.

The 350-room hotel has been under construction since 2017 and includes 30,000 square feet of meeting space and a 10,000-square-foot “even lawn” between the hotel and the Toyota Music Factory entertainment and retail center.

“The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas provides the final component of Irving’s vision for its convention district,” Maura Gast, executive director at the Irving Convention & Visitors Bureau, said in a statement. “With the Westin’s opening, meeting professionals and attendees now have a perfectly efficient destination package with the Irving Convention Center and Toyota Music Factory with its Live Nation Pavilion and restaurant options.

“With Irving’s unbeatable location in the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth and between DFW International Airport and Love Field, Irving is now the ideal sweet spot for meetings and conventions.”

The 13-story hotel tower was designed by Dallas architect BOKA Powell with interiors by Waldrop + Nichols Studio.

Austin Commercial was the general contractor.

The hotel has a large outdoor patio bar and dining space facing the convention center.
There’s also a bar and bistro on the upper level swimming pool deck with views toward downtown Dallas.

The hotel expects to draw customers from both the convention center next door and general business travelers.

The hotel is owned by Provident Resources Group and was developed through a public-private partnership between the city of Irving and Garfield Public Private LLC.
