At the 2019 Annual Conference held in Austin, Texas, the members of Financial & Insurance Conference Professionals elected three meetings professionals to serve on the association’s 2020 board of directors. The announcement was made at the 2019 FICP Annual Conference, held at the Fairmont Austin.

Joining the board are January Cantrell, CMP, Director, AIG Financial Distributors; Heidi Carlisle, Second Vice President, Travel, Meetings & Incentives, Aflac; and Pamela Carey Schrock, CMM, CMP, Senior Manager, Meetings & Events, Transamerica. Their three-year terms will become effective January 1st, 2020.

By acclamation, Michael S. Burke, CMP, Director, Conference & Travel Services, The Hanover Insurance Group, will become the 2020 Chair. Wayne Robinson, CMP, CMM, Assistant Vice President, FM Global, will serve as Immediate Past Chair.

The board of directors appointed Erin Longo, CMP, Vice President, Conference and Meeting Services, Prudential, as Chair-Elect. Longo will become Chair of the Board in 2021.

Also continuing on the board in 2020 are:

  • Meredith Brewer, Corporate Vice President – Corporate Events, New York Life Insurance Company
  • Allison Cooper, Vice President, Conference Experiences, LPL Financial
  • Jennifer Squeglia, CMP, Independent Contractor, Boston Private
  • Executive Director Steve Bova, CAE, Financial & Insurance Conference Professionals (FICP)

Concluding their terms and departing the board at the end of 2019 are Lynn Schwandt, CMP, Retired, Thrivent Financial; and Marcia Merando, LLIF, FLMI, LUTCF, Director of Marketing, Frankenmuth Insurance.

To serve on the board of directors, one must be an FICP member in good standing for at least three consecutive years; be able to maintain their corporate and/or meeting planning responsibilities as well as their board responsibilities; have the full support of their company’s management; and have at least five years of work experience as a meetings and events professional.
