FICP Welcomes 2018 Leadership

Members of Financial & Insurance Conference Professionals (FICP) met for the association’s Annual Business Meeting and elected one meetings professional to serve on the 2018 board of directors. The announcement was made at the 2017 FICP Annual Conference, held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, Calif.

Joining the board is Allison Cooper, Vice President, Conference Experiences, LPL Financial, Fort Mill, S.C. Her three-year term will become effective January 1, 2018.

By acclamation, Marcia Merando, LLIF, FLMI, LUTCF, Director of Marketing, Frankenmuth Insurance, Frankenmuth Mich., will become the 2018 Chair.

The board of directors appointed Wayne Robinson, CMP, Assistant Vice President, FM Global, Johnston, R.I. as Chair-Elect. Robinson will assume the FICP Chair role in 2019.

Continuing on the board in 2018 are:

Concluding her term and departing the board at the end of 2017 is Caryn Taylor Lucia, Vice President, Corporate Event Marketing, SEI.

To serve on the board of directors, one must be an FICP member in good standing for at least three consecutive years; be able to maintain their corporate and/or meeting planning responsibilities as well as their board responsibilities; have the full support of their company’s management; and have at least five years of work experience as a meetings and events professional.

2018 Hospitality Partner Advisory Committee Announced

Martin Johnston, Regional Director of Sales, Montage Hotels & Resorts, has been named chair of the FICP Hospitality Partner Advisory Committee (HPAC), effective January 1, 2018.

The HPAC welcomes Katina Athanasiou, Vice President, Charters, Meetings & Incentives, Regent Seven Seas Cruises & Oceania Cruises; and Sterena Strickland, Regional Vice President of Sales, ACCESS Destination Services, to three-year terms on the HPAC.

Also continuing on the HPAC are:

  • Lynn Lee, Global Sales Director, AlliedPRA
  • David Riederman, Director, Global Accounts, Hyatt Hotels Corporation

Departing the HPAC at the conclusion of their terms at the end of 2017 are: Linda Burley, CMP, Senior Sales Manager, The Westin Las Vegas Hotel & Spa; and Cosimo Bruzzese, Vice President of Business Development, Briggs, an AlliedPRA Company.
