Celebrity Now Offering Year-Round Caribbean Sailings

Celebrity Cruises has just introduced year-round Caribbean sailings onboard the Celebrity Equinox, making it the only premium cruise brand sailing the Caribbean this summer. Dubbed the “Celebrity Equinox Summer Takeover,” each sailing also will offer new unique experiences and enriching activities.

“Our guests, first-time cruisers and our travel partners have been asking me for many years to offer year-round Caribbean cruises. They wished we offered these itineraries,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO, Celebrity Cruises. “Modern luxury, affluent vacationers have been looking for summer cruises in the Caribbean and we felt this was a significant opportunity in our offering. So our new year-long sailings are perfect for discerning families and couples who want a summer getaway to sought-after tropical islands, with the best culinary experiences in the region and enriching activities for children and adults — all of which can only be offered by Celebrity. We are also adding new itineraries and sailings to create the most unforgettable vacations in the Caribbean; this is another example of what makes Celebrity so distinct and unique.”

The Celebrity Equinox Summer Takeover is comprised of 24 sailings alternating between the Western and Eastern Caribbean on Celebrity Equinox and seven exceptional itineraries in 2017 — all from Miami. As a prelude to summer, Celebrity Cruises is offering a special 11-night Signature Event sailing in the Caribbean that includes a double-overnight stay in New Orleans, Louisiana, coinciding with the city’s famous jazz festival. In addition, Lutoff-Perlo will be hosting a special President’s Cruise in the Caribbean, departing on August 27, 2017, for an eight-night Eastern Caribbean sailing. Lutoff-Perlo will be hosting special events and excursions to take the vacation to the next level of indulgence.

According to Lisa Vogt, AVP, global meetings, incentives and charter sales, incentive houses and corporate clients also have long been asking for presence in the Caribbean region during summer, and Celebrity offers itineraries that meet their needs. “Our MICE clients love itineraries up to seven nights,” said Vogt. “Eastern Caribbean seems to be the favorite, but they alternate the programs, so one year they’ll do Eastern, another year they’ll do Western.”

Among the unique, new  experiences available on the Celebrity Equinox that incentive winners and meeting attendees can take advantage of is the Taste of the Caribbean program. “A Taste of Caribbean will feature interactive cooking demos, wine-tasting events and sail-away parties on our unique lawn club,” Vogt explains. “We’re the first and only cruise line to offer a lawn of real grass on the top deck of our Solstice Class ships. On a sunny day, it’s perfect for taking a picnic and wiling away the afternoon at sea. If you’re feeling competitive, you might opt for a game of boules or croquet before kicking back with some live musical entertainment just as night falls.”

Vogt adds that Celebrity can customize events for meeting and incentive groups, from private cocktail parties to team dinners at one of the ship’s award-winning restaurants. “We also offer onboard and offshore teambuilding activities.” Options include beach olympics, scavenger hunts, wine and food pairings, basketball competitions, casino game tournaments, themed contests and more.

For a limited time Celebrity is offering four free perks for MICE groups that book on the Equinox Summer 2017 sailings. The perks include $150 onboard credit, unlimited internet package, premium beverage package and prepaid gratuities, per person. For all other destinations MICE groups get one free perk. “This offer makes the cruise even more inclusive than other land-based programs,” Vogt says.
