The Baltimore Marriott Waterfront recently unveiled its new vibrant Greatroom lobby, which features Apropoe’s, a new restaurant. The reimagined Greatroom is part of Marriott Hotels brand initiative to transform lobbies from a formal living room into a local destination where people spend time, by themselves or with friends or colleagues, to relax, socialize or get work done. Guests will no longer have to choose between a meeting room and a restaurant or bar; the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront brings next-generation travelers an array of personalized choices.

Central to the renovation was the concept and construction of an au courant restaurant that’s available to travelers and diners alike. Apropoe’s, a play on Baltimore’s beloved Edgar Allen Poe, is not just a restaurant; it’s a versatile space. It features a sleek, modern design with spaces to work, gather and play. The kitchen features contemporary comfort food and seasonal Maryland fare such as the Poe burger, hand-stretched pizzas and Baltimore’s favorite Maryland crab cake served over creamed corn.

“The goal of the renovation was to create a space that transforms the atmosphere throughout the day, giving guests the options to work together or by themselves — socialize in groups or plug in to their social networks,” said Ed Rudzinski, general manager of the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. “The traveler has evolved over the last few decades, and we recognized that our space needed to evolve with them. We are thrilled with the finished product and believe with this new design and layout we’ve created an environment that is truly versatile.”

Apropoe’s space contributes effortlessly to Marriott’s unified Greatroom experience, where guests can dine, work, relax, plug in, meet and socialize. Also, there is a newly added private dining room to accommodate special occasions for up to 40 guests. The Ravens Room, the newly named lounge space, features Wi-Fi access and a large projection screen TV.

Other renovations include the Waterview Ballroom and fitness center. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling views of Baltimore’s historic Inner Harbor now wrap the ballroom, and the private 3,000-sf space can accommodate 200 guests for a reception and 190 for a seated dinner. The ballroom also features a private outdoor patio, private entrance and prefunction hall. The fitness center offers new state-of-the-art equipment, including weight and cardio machines featuring personal TVs
.
Baltimore Marriott Waterfront also features new Marriott Hotels brand technology. Apps include:

  • Red Coat Direct (www.redcoatdirect.marriott.com), a first-of-its-kind app that lets meeting organizers adjust and edit their meeting requests and preferences with a touch of a button and without ever leaving the meeting room.
  • Mobile Check-In & Check-Out (www.marriott.com/marriott/mobile-apps.mi), which provides an enhanced arrival experience with check-in up to two hours before arrival and automatic notifications when a room is ready.

The Baltimore Marriott Waterfront is a premier convention hotel with 80,000 sf of event space and is just a short walk or water taxi ride from the Baltimore Convention Center. The hotel is located in a trendy and popular part of Baltimore, and is near the National Aquarium, Harbor East shopping and the scenic Inner Harbor waterfront.
