ASAE Foundation Announces 2020 Centennial Research Initiative

June 12, 2018

Leading up to ASAE’s 100-year anniversary, ASAE Foundation has launched a multi-year research initiative that will showcase some of the contributions associations make to society. Integral to this effort will be an expansive body of research aimed at measuring the impact and influence associations have related to workforce development, education, economy, member engagement and change management. Research firms WESTAT and McKinley, along with digital agency Social Driver, will collaborate with the ASAE Foundation on aspects of data-collection, analysis, interpretation, dissemination and engagement of the findings.

“This research will illustrate how associations and the industry strive to enhance the lives of individuals around the world in order to make it a better, stronger, smarter, and safer society,” said Sal Martino, FASAE, CAE, Chief Executive Officer and executive director at the
American Society of Radiologic Technologists and ASAE chair-elect and chair of the ASAE Foundation. “We are excited to see the results, so our members can use the data to tell their stories.”

The volunteer effort to design this program of research was led by the 2020 Centennial Research Committee co-chairs Marc Beebe, senior director, strategic research, public imperatives and corporate development at IEEE, and Barbara Byrd Keenan, CEO at Endocrine Society; and the research proposal review and selection sub-committee chair Kim Mosley, CEO at The American Specialty Toy Retailing Association.
