In addition to being a leading tourist destination, Charleston, South Carolina, is poised to become a premier meeting and event destination this fall with the reopening of the Gaillard Center. The Gaillard Center, renovated to include a state-of-the-art performance hall, exhibition hall and outdoor meeting space, will soon offer unmatched meeting space in downtown Charleston.

The Martha and John Rivers Performance Hall, constructed to achieve the highest acoustic standards and artfully designed to reflect its South Carolina home, will be a destination in and of itself in one of the top travel locales in the world. The performance hall, designed to intimately seat 1,800 guests, features an oval-shaped orchestra level with two center aisles and three tiers of horseshoe-shaped balconies. The second levels also will feature opera boxes with their own lobbies.

The Gaillard’s exhibition hall, providing nearly 16,000 sf of meeting space, is already being reserved for conventions, trade shows, banquets, weddings and festivals for the coming year. The space, designed to accommodate a variety of events, includes a well-designed kitchen, banquet facilities and restrooms, in addition to soundproof wall dividers and rigging for lighting/sound equipment. Its décor pays homage to the center’s home by incorporating symbols and motifs unique to the Charleston low country.

In addition to vast indoor space, the Gaillard Center will offer a lush outdoor area outside the banquet hall segregated into a 7,300-sf terrace and complemented by 11,000 sf of manicured lawn with Noisette roses and fountains.
